Since its been a while
Well, its been several weeks since by last post, so I figured I’d make it easy and link to the post I wrote this a.m. on my company’s blog. The topic of discussion is best practices for tradeshows and events.
Enjoy!
Just another WordPress.com weblog

If you are a girl between the ages of 25 and 40, you’ve heard the good news - New Kids on the Block is reuniting! I was a HUGE New Kids fan back in the day and when I heard about their appearance on the today show, it immediately morphed me back to the pre-pubescent era of the late 80s/early 90s when big hair and pegged pants were in.
SO, if you were ever Hangin’ Tough hoping that you Got the Right Stuff for Jordan to tell you that he’ll Be Loving You Forever, then I’m sure you’re going to do what I did and set your Tivo to the Today Show Tomorrow!
Ok, so I just need to point out that I know a bunch of moms-to-be right now and I believe there are at least five that are due in the month of March. So I’d like to extend my best wishes to Mike and Benay who were due on March 14 and are patently waiting; Jen and Kevin who are due March 19; and Becki and Steven who are expecting on March 20. Also congratulations to Leigh and Jill, who are both due in March, but I don’t know the exact due dates. If I’m missing anyone, my sincerest apologies. Good luck to all of you who are about to face sleepless nights and dirty diapers, it is hands-down the most amazing experience in the world! I’ve also included below a recent picture of my little angel - they grow up SO fast!
A colleague of mine just sent a very interesting blog post of a Gen X’er discussing the state of Gen Y’s or “millennials”. I must say, I’ve felt much of the frustration that the blogger has felt and applaud them for their opinions. At the same time, many folks jumped on this blog about their generalization of an entire generation. The conflict went on for a few posts. Now, I also agree with some that we shouldn’t categorize. But the fact of the matter is that the folks who do fall under the steriotype are hurting those who don’t. The question is, rather than debating a very sensitive issue….what do we do to resolve it?
FYI - for some reason I can’t hyperlink today, so here is the link to the post I was referring to.

I think you all knew this post was coming. I am very excited for this Sunday’s history making game. I hope it lives up to the hype and I hope the commercials are fantastic! That said, the Pats have been all over the news - everything from Tom’s foot to Billy B’s prolific coaching style and hoodie. Even CIO Magazine is getting in on the action, equating Belichick’s coaching style to that of the business world. The post is an interesting read. My personal favorite is the Superbowl 18-0 song on Jam’n 94.5. I highly recommend listening to it!
So, I’ll keep this short and sweet - good luck to our history making Patriots in AZ on Sunday!!!
OMG, can you believe its almost the middle of January! Where does the time go. I hope everyone had a very happy and healthy holiday season. Mine was good - Jack had his first x-mas and although he had no idea what was going on, he seemed to have a really great time. So, as some of you know, I work in PR and right now is the big time for clients, vendors, analyst, etc…to make their predictions. That said, I’m going to make some of my own:
Can you believe that one week from today is x-mas. I swear, it was just October a few days ago! Fortunately, thanks to the wonderful world of online shopping, I’m all set for gifts. But, like many of you out there, I have family coming over which means a lot of cooking and cleaning. Good luck to all of you who are braving the holidays and may you have a very happy and healthy holiday season!
So, I just finished reading The Broker. I thought it was pretty good - if you like the whole governmental conspiracy thing. Grisham is classic for this kind of stuff, although I was a bit surprised there was no sort of trial in it. This time a powerbroker, who was the main character, was the guy in trouble. The book takes you on a whirl wind tour of protective custody to Bologna and back to DC. It was interesting and held my attention throughout. However, at times, I did think it was a bit over the top since the character - a DC broker, seemed to be as savvy as the worlds top spies and secret agents…a bit of a stretch, but that’s why it is meant for enjoyment. I’d give this book 1 1/2 thumbs up!
Hi everyone! I have to say, I’m in a really good mood today. Fall is one of my favorite seasons and it wasn’t until this week that it really started to feel like fall in New England. Mostly because (and I’m not complaining) its been unseasonably warm. But this week, it has been a bit cooler, the leaves are gorgeous and you can just smell the fresh fall air. This is one of the best times to be a New Englander!
