Enough is enough – Young Hollywood in Jail is fine by me!
I don’t know about anyone else, but I am sick of hearing about the brats of Hollywood - Hilty, Lindsay, Britney and Nicole. What’s worse, is that they are not just on the entertainment TV shows and Web sites (that’s fine that they cover them, that’s what they do) but they are on general news casts, an area that should be reserved for REAL news!
Let’s just say for the record that I’m glad that Hilty went to jail and that the others are on their way. I mean, its pretty sad that K-Fed is considered a better parent than Britney. To be honest, if you really want to punish these girls, take away their money and fame and make them regular run of the mill people like the rest of us – make them get real jobs that they have to go to everyday and make them pay their own bills. I’m sure none of them have ever seen their cell phone bills, let alone paid for them. I think non-noteriety would be the greatest lesson of all.
I know, some of you are saying that I’m just adding to their hype by blogging about it…but I also want to take a moment for us to remember what’s really important – family, friends, the war and things that make up REAL news, not Hollywood BS.

An ode to Alfie – may you rest in peace
I got an email this morning from my good friend Lora that her cat died last night. Now I know some of you are probably thinking — so what. However, if you are an animal lover you know all to well the pain that goes along with losing a beloved pet…its like losing a family member. That is why today my post is an ode to Alfie. Alfie was a big ole fatty orange tabby cat. You can get an idea of how old he is by his name – Alf. For those of you who are too young to remember, its was a sitcom about an alien…who incidentially loved to eat cats?!?! Anyway, Alfie, here’s to you! Hopefully, you’re sitting on a couch somewhere with a big ole can of tuna looking down on the Mulone family and saying “I’m doing just fine!”

I’ve been Simpsonized – Not quite!
I was reading the Emerging Technologies blog on eWeek and came across a pretty cool post by Jim Rapoza. It talked about a cool little technology called the Simpsonizer. He loaded up his picture and was turned into a Simspon character. Now, given my love for the Simpson’s I had to try it out. Unfortunately though, the site seems to be down and from the posts I’ve read, it is very overloaded. Although I think this is a terrific marketing ploy for the release of The Simpsons Movie coming out on Friday, its unfortunate, because a lot of Simpson fans seem to be more annoyed than anything. I guess I’ll keep trying and let you know if I get through.

Sell this house!
As I’m sure most of you know, I’ve been trying to sell my house for the better part of a year. We’ve gotten a bunch of interest, but no firm commitment. So, although I’m not turning my blog into an advertising agent, I had to post something to see if it helps getting my place sold. If anyone is interested in checking it out, let me know!

Lia Sophia – good stuff!
This weekend I had a Lia Sophia jewelry party….mainly because my mother-in-law is now a rep. for them. I have to say that I was a bit skeptical because my grandmother engrained in me at an early age that “if it ain’t real, it ain’t worth wearing.” I have to say though, that after the party my opinions are a bit flipped. Don’t get my wrong, I’ll take diamonds from anyone who wants to give them to me, but Lia Sophia had a lot of nice things and some reasonable prices. So, if you want an excuse to get the girls together to have some apps., drink some wine and look at some pretty jewelry, this is the way to go. Also, if you need a rep. to host the party, I know two – my mother-in- law MaryPat Burns – 603-321-9912 and my good friend Joanna Harkin – 781-893-0456. Ciao for now!

Are you satisfied with your spam filter?
I was reading NetworkWorld this morning and an article caught my attention. It discusses a study that most antispam technology works poorly and people are unsatisfied. Duh! Do we really need a study to tell us this?
I don’t know about you, but every morning I come into work and delete at least a dozen pieces of spam. I then need to go into my spam filter to ensure nothing important got trapped. Now, I’m not knocking the study, I’m sure people worked very hard on it, but all I can say is that if everything worked as poorly as spamfilters, we’d be in serious trouble.
Always change
So 5 minutes before I left for work this morning Jack decided to spit up his breakfast on me. Of course, I have a big meeting today and am wearing my one and only suite that still fits. Not wanting to be late, I sponged myself off took a quick look in the mirror and was out the door – BAD MOVE. Although I look clean, all I can smell is that lovely formula…and for those of you who have children, you know how nauseating that can be. So, my thoughts for today – be late for work and change, you’ll be happy you did.

Go Red Sox!
I was trying to think about what I wanted to write about today and then I remembered that the Red Sox are playing tonight. I know all of you folks who aren’t from MA are now saying “oh boy here we go, another crazy Sox fan”. Yes, I am a crazy Sox fan (and a crazy Pats fan, but I’ll leave that until Sept.) I am an avid member of Red Sox Nation and am especially proud of the 2004 team, not only because they won the World Series, but because game one was on my wedding day – October 23, 2004.
Additionally, even if you are not a Sox fan, you have to admit, they won in style. They faced their biggest nemesis in the playoffs – The Evil Empire – New York Yankees - and beat them in game-changing fashion. I’m mean, we even had a team song…I still get the chills when I hear the Dropkick Murphy’s sing “Tessie“.
Ok, I know, you’re sick of reliving something that happened 3 years ago. I think I’m just a bit nestolgic, given how well the Sox are currently doing. So, I’ll end this post by saying – good luck to our boys down at Fenway Park…continue to make us proud!![]()

Good blogs – any suggestions?
Ok, so I’m slowly but surely learning how this whole blogging thing works and its kind of fun! Today I updated my Blogroll to include some blogs of friends, co-workers and just stuff that I like. I’m sure there are a million more blogs out there that I’d like to link to, so if you have any good suggestions, please send them my way!

He selpt through the night!
For all of you who have children, you can definitely relate to this post. My son just started sleeping through the night this week. He’s now done it 3 times. Is there a greater feeling in the world? In chatting with a co-worker who has children of his own – he put it best – you’d pass up any material possessions for that first night that you’re child sleeps. I couldn’t agree more!!!
