Patriots are going to the Superbowl!

I think you all knew this post was coming.  I am very excited for this Sunday’s history making game.  I hope it lives up to the hype and I hope the commercials are fantastic!  That said, the Pats have been all over the news – everything from Tom’s foot to Billy B’s prolific coaching style and hoodie.  Even CIO Magazine is getting in on the action, equating Belichick’s coaching style to that of the business world.  The post is an interesting read.  My personal favorite is the Superbowl 18-0 song on Jam’n 94.5.  I highly recommend listening to it!

So, I’ll keep this short and sweet – good luck to our history making Patriots in AZ on Sunday!!!

Happy New Year!

OMG, can you believe its almost the middle of January!  Where does the time go.  I hope everyone had a very happy and healthy holiday season.  Mine was good – Jack had his first x-mas and although he had no idea what was going on, he seemed to have a really great time.  So, as some of you know, I work in PR and right now is the big time for clients, vendors, analyst, etc…to make their predictions.  That said, I’m going to make some of my own:

  • The election – lots of hype, unsatisfactory results – I’m sure we’ll end up electing a great presidential candidate, who will do his/her best to invoke “change,” but let’s face it, the race is going to be much more entertaining than the final outcome.
  • Britney - if she lives past the next 3-5 months, she stands a shot at getting her life together – but I’m really not confident.  I’m also hoping to see less of her on the news because, really, does anyone care anymore?
  • Millennials will have a tough time – everyone has been talking about the Millennial generation and how different they are, how they need to be catered to, etc…really this age group has been getting a bad rap because not all of them fall under the categories of selfish or pampered.  However, if we hit a recession, as predicted, those who are millennial to the core are about to get a reality check as job loss will once again become a factor and those who don’t want to or can’t pull their own weight will be left in the unemployment line.
  • The year of babies – I don’t know about all of you, but every time I turn around, I hear of another pregnancy – in fact this morning their was an announcement that Pamela Anderson is “with child”.  I know at least 20 women who are due (no pun intended) to give birth in 2008.  Be prepared for an onslaught of baby showers ladies!!!
  • New Media – 2007 was the year of blogs, podcats, MySpace, uTube, etc…although these outlets are extremely entertaining, people are going to fast find that the Web is unforgiving and anyone can be Googled.  Watch out college students who are entering corporate America!  I know I Google people I’m interviewing and do you really want your future employer to see videos of you on Spring Break???
